Talk.Don't type.
Hold a key, say what you mean, let go. NoType types your words wherever your cursor is: email, chat, documents, the terminal. Transcribed by Mistral's Voxtral.
30 minutes free every month. No card needed. macOS and Linux later.
Three motions.
No new habits.
Hold
Press and hold Right Ctrl in any app. A small pill with a live waveform shows you're recording. Change the shortcut in Settings.
Speak
Talk the way you normally would. Changed your mind? Press Esc and nothing is sent.
Release
Let go and the text is pasted where your cursor is. Your clipboard is put back afterwards.
A European home
for your voice.
Nearly every AI dictation tool that works well is built in Silicon Valley and runs on American models.
NoType runs on Voxtral, made by Mistral AI in Paris, and is built independently in Europe. Audio is transcribed and discarded. History is off by default.
It does one thing. No meeting bots. No "AI workspace". Just your words, where your cursor is.
Small app.
Big difference.
Every app
If it has a text cursor, you can talk into it: Outlook, Slack, Word, VS Code, your browser, a terminal.
Your languages
Voxtral detects what you speak. English, Français, Deutsch, Nederlands, Español, Italiano, Português.
Private by default
Audio is never stored and history stays off until you turn it on. Personal dictionarys are encrypted.
Light
A native tray app. Nothing runs in a window while you're not talking.
Personal dictionary
Teach dictation your names, acronyms and jargon. Your dictionary follows you across devices.
Accurate, fast
Names, numbers and punctuation handled well. Text arrives a moment after you let go.
Fair pricing.
Nothing hidden.

Good to know.
How is this different from other AI dictation apps?
It works the same way: hold a key, talk, and polished text appears. The difference is where it comes from: Mistral AI's models, an independent European team, no stored audio, and Pro at $4.99 a month.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows 10 and 11 today. macOS and Linux versions are on the way.
What happens to my recordings?
Your audio goes to the NoType API, which passes it to Mistral for transcription and returns the text. The audio is never saved. History is off by default.
What if I use up my 30 free minutes?
Your allowance resets every month. Once Pro launches, it gives you 10 hours a month for $4.99.
